Esther Chapter 6:Mordecai is honored

Esther Chapter 6

The Bible begins this chapter with the night of the first banquet it says that the king could not sleep he ordered the books of The Chronicles the record of his Reign to be brought in and read to him.

It was found recorded there that Mordecai had exposed two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, who had conspired to assassinate him (if you want to see that part you may scroll down to Esther chapter 2)

King Xerxes asked what honor of recognition did Mordecai received for this act.He was told that Mordecai received no reward.

 the king asked who was in the court and he was told that Haman was standing in the court, he told them to bring him in. When haman entered the king asked him what should be done for a man that the king would be glad to honor. Without a question Haman knew the King was speaking about him who else but him the king would love to honor.

Selfishly thinking that he was coming up with gifts for his self he says have them bring a Royal Robe the King has worn and a horse the King has ridden  with a Royal Crest placed on its head. Then let the robe and horse be entrusted to one of the kings most noble princes.let them ride the man that the king would love to honor and lead him on this horse through the city streets, proclaiming This is what is done for the man the king loves to honor. 

The king commanded Haman to go at once to get the robe and the horse for Mordecai the jew, who sits at the kings gate, and do not neglect any thing you have recommended.

I could imagine how Mordecai most have felt, here is an example why it’s never good to look down on people or think your better than, some people would use the saying the same people you see on your way up you see on your way down. Others would use God doesn’t like ugly.

Haman got the robe and the horse, he robed Mordecai, and led him through the city streets on horseback, proclaiming This is what is done to the man the king loves to honor! 

After Mordecai went back to the kings gate and Haman went home in grief and told his wife and friends everything that happens.

His wife and advisors said to him “Since Mordecai before whom your downfall has started is of jewish origin, you cannot stand against him-you will surely come to ruin!” While they were talking the king eunuch arrived and hurried Haman away to the banquet Esther had prepared. 

IF GOD IS FOR US THEN WHO CAN STAND AGAINST US. This chapter is exactly a true meaning of that phrase. Haman had to ride the person he hated around town and honor him, he hated this man so much he order for the destruction of all the poeple of this Mordecais origin, in 12th month.  Now here he is having to honor this man. The way my God is set up , that the tongue that looks to kill me will be the tongue that has to speak great things about me. PLEASE be careful what you say how you treat others.

Esther chapter 5 Esther gives a banquet for King Xerxes and Haman

Esther chapter 5

After fasting on the third day has to put on her royal robes instead in the inner Court a front of the king’s Hall.
The King was sitting on his Royal Throne facing the entrance when he saw Queen Esther, pleased with her he held out to her the gold scepter that was in his hand Esther approached and touch the tip of the scepter.

Then the king asked, what is it Queen Esther? what is your request? even up to half the kingdom it will be given to you.

 Esther answers if it pleases the king let the king together with Haman come to a banquet I have prepared.

The king called for haman to come at once so that they may do what Esther asked.

When they went to the banquet Esther had prepared when they were drinking wine the king asked Esther again.

What is your petition? it will be given to you and what is your request? even up to half the kingdom it will be granted.

Esther replies if the king regards me with favor and if it pleases the king and Haman come to a banquet tomorrow then I will answer the Kings question.

Esther was a smart woman I’m sure everybody knew that the king liked to drink she had planned a party, the king loved a banquet also he enjoyed being around Esther that was noticeable when reading she was pleasing to his site.

When Haman went out he was happy until he saw Mordecai at the gate and he didn’t rise or show fear this made haman fill with rage against Mordecai. Haman restrained himself and went home.

Haman was among his friends and family and boasted about all the wonderful things that the king had given him he also boasted about being the only person Queen Esther invited to the banquet but he says that’s no Satisfaction as long as that you Mordecai is sitting at the gate.

Haman wife and friends told him to have a gallow built and ask the king to have Mordecai hung this idea delighted Haman and he had the Gallow built. 

What a power trip, could you imagine his face when he would see Mordecai. It’s never good to think that you are superior or better than someone else the position that God puts us in is not meant to make someone feel less than but meant to help others. Using your Authority position for a greater good.

God has the power to make a man king in with that same power take it away this is something Haman needed to learn. The nerve of his wife and friends to encourage him to ask  for Mordecai to be hung. If you are like me you can’t wait for chapter 6 but that we will save for tomorrow have a blessed day until tomorrow.

Easther chapter 4: Mordecai persuades Esther

Esther chapter 4

When Mordecai found out what was decreed by the king he tore off his clothes and put on sackcloth and Ashes he went into the city wailing loudly and bitterly, He only went to the king’s gate. In every Province there was a great morning among the Jews.

When Esthers eunuch and maids came and told her about Mordecai she was in great distress, she sent close to him but he would not accept them. Esther said hathach one of  the Kings eunuch assigned to her to find out what was troubling Mordecai.

Mordecai told hathach  everything that had happened to him, including the exact amount of money Haman had promised to pay into the Royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews. He also gave him a copy of the text of the edict for their annihilation, which had been published in Susa. Mordecai told him to urge Esther to go into the king’s presence to beg for mercy and plead with him for their people.

Hathach went back and told Esther what Mordecai said and she sent him back with a message all the king’s officials and the people of Royal provinces no you will be put to death if you approach the king in the inner Court without being summoned the only exception is if the king Extends a gold scepter and the King had not called for her in thirty days.

It seems as if Esther was probably afraid to face her husband the king and in that situation I would probably feel the same way death to the person who interrupts him without being summoned.

When Mordecai received this message he sent back his own that said: don’t think that because you are in the King’s house that you alone of all the Jews will escape, if you remain silent relief and deliverance for the Jews will rise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish, and who knows you may have been put in this position for such a Time.

Esther sent the message to Mordecai to gather all the Jews fast for me and do not eat or drink for three days or nights she says that she and her Maids will do the same and when it’s done she will go to the king this chapter ends with Esther saying if I perish, I perish.
This chapter is deep being stuck between willing to give up your life and save your people or be quiet and be the queen. But who could live knowing that they could say something to save their people.

It was right of Esther to fast and pray  and have everyone fast and pray together she was bringing God right in the center of her decision. She knew that she would have God’s blessing so if she died she would die doing work that was for God’s people.

I hope that you enjoy chapter 4 of Esther this book it’s so amazing you know it’s a story of sacrifice.

Esther Chapter 3: The Jews are Threaten

Okay now that the introduction is over lets get started. 

Esther Chapter 3

Hamans plot to destroy the Jews.

After the hanging of the officials king Xerxes honor haman son of Hammedatha the agagite elavating him and giving him a seat of high honor then all the nobles. All royal officials knelt down and paid honor to Haman, which king Xerxes had commanded. Mordecai would not obey this order, day after day the officials would speak to Mordecai about this until one day they decided  to speak to Haman to see if Mordecais behavior was tolerated,  Mordecai informed them that he was a Jew.

When Haman saw for himself that Mordecai did not kneel or honor himhe was enraged. Haman didn’t want to just punish Mordecai he wanted all the Jews destroyed.

This is crazy, because the Jews didn’t bow to man but only gave God the high honor he thought they should die, a power trip if I ever saw one.

In the twelfth year of king Xerxes reign they cast lots to decided the day to carry out his decree.the lot fell on the twelfth month. Haman told king Xerxes that there were a people who were scattered throughout the province that do not obey the kings law, he informed the king that he shouldn’t tolerate them. 

Haman says to the king he would pay ten thousand talents of silver to the men who carry out this business if you he puts out the decree to destroy the Jews. 

The king took of his signet ring and gave it to Haman the enemy of the Jews and then says, keep the money and do with the people as you please. 

This is horrible no one should have that much power over the lives of others or think they have the right to kill people for having different beliefs. Sad part is this is apart of our everyday life now. To seebrhe same bigotry in the bible tells me though I was shielded  this ain’t nothing new it just was hidden for awhile combed over.

It was written that all the jews were to be destroyed in the province this decree was sealed with the kings ring. A copy of the text was sent out for every nationality to be prepared for the day. The king and Haman sat down for a drink but the whole city was bewildered.

Oh my,my,my this was serious I have come to the conclusion that King Xerxes has a drinking problem and Haman was his drinking partner. Which led to him giving this man so much authority, even after ordering the death of so many people they found that to be a reason to drink.

Esther chapter 2: Esther prepares to meet king Xerxes

Now that the introduction is over lets get started. 

Esther Chapter 2

Chapter 2 starts off when King Xerxes sobered up after his seven days of drinking and realized what he did and why he did it ( scroll down and see Esther chapter 1). In his confusion his personal attendant proposed that he start a search to be made for beautiful virgins for the king, to appoint commissioners in every province of his realm and bring all beautiful girls to citadel of Susa.that they should be placed under Hegai the eunuch who is in charge of all women. For them to have beauty treatments(makeovers ) and the girl who pleased the king will be crowned queen. King Xerxes liked the advice of his attendant and followed it.

Now in the citadel of susa was a Jew tribe of Benjamin one of the men name Mordecai, had a cousin who he raised himself because her parents had died the cousins name was Hadassah she was also called Esther. The bible tells us that she was lovely in form and features.

When Hegai saw Esther he was pleased with her look and immediately sent her for her beauty treatments and assigned seven maids,  special foods, and moved her to the best place in the harem.

Esther had not revealed her nationality or background because Mordecai had forbidden her to do so. Everyday Mordecai walked back and forth between the courtyard by the harem to keep an eye on how Esther was doing and what was happening to her.

This is amazing how Mordecai  raised his cousins daughter because her parents had died, yet he protected her like she was his natural born child he stayed around to make sure his family was okay, I pray that more family members learn the Love that Mordecai had for Esther. 

The routine that the girls went through before going to king Xerxes in preparation to possibly become queen was one year of beauty treatments. Six months of oil and myrrh and six months of perfumes and cosmetics.

When it was the girls time to go to the king to be looked over they were allowed to take anything they wanted to the kings palace she would spend the night and in the morning go to the care of shaashgaz the kings eunuch who was in charge of the kings concubines.

When it was Esthers turn she asked for nothing but what Hegai has suggested. Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her.

She was taken to King Xerxes in the royal residence in the tenth month and his seventh year of reign. 

The king was attracted to Esther as soon as he laid eyes on her face. He immediately set the royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. The The king gave a banquet in honor of Esther his new queen he also proclaimed the day a holiday through out the province.

Mordecai uncovers a conspiracy 

Mordecai was at the gate ( still making sure that Esther was protected no doubt) and he over heard two Gaurds angrily speaking about assassinating the King. Mordecai rushed to tell Queen Esther who told the king giving all the credit to Mordecai. The officials were hung on gallows. All this was recorded in the book of annals in the presence of the king.

Amen, it’s amazing how God works most women understand  this part of things. Though Vashti wasn’t meant for king Xerxes in this part of his reign. Maybe she wasn’t even happy with him, maybe she liked a quiet life and got a nice little house some jewels and lived a peaceful life. We know what God had planned for Esther and he moved and shifted some people to put her in the place that I’m sure Mordecai prepared her for. 

And even as Mordecai was loyal to her she was loyal to him Esther gave him all the credit when it came ro revealing thw officials, I’m  sure had king Xerxes not picked Esther those officials would have  succeeded in thier plot to assassinate the king. God is shifting and I am excited to find out what how in the chapters to come.

On another note when you are preparing for something look to this book to remind you that God is always shifting and move some people, places, and things to stay focus and visualize the shift. I hope you enjoyed this chapter I sure enjoyed it.

Esther Chapter 1: how Esther became queen

We have finished the book of Daniel, what a wonderful book. In the book of Daniel we learned how to be faithful servants of God, we learned about fasting, and how important it is to keep a journal and right down the visions that God gives us.if you missed the blogs on the book of Daniel please scroll down and enjoy the lessons out of  the book. 

Now we are on the book of Esther. No I don’t go in order I go in Obedience, God has away of pointing out a book for me and I in Obedience study and share it, let me add that it is said that Esther is the only book that doesn’t mention God but his presences is noticed . Okay lets begin the chapter.

Esther Chapter 1

 This chapter begins explaining to us that king xerxes who ruled over 120 provinces (territory ) he ruled from his throne in citdal of susa. King xerxes held a banquet that last 180 days for the nobles and princes of Persia and Media showing how well off he was. After 180 days were up he held another banquet in the enclosed garden for everyone from least to greatest that encludes servant’s regular folks and higher level people. Wine of chioce was served and the best of food was available. On the seventh day drunk from wine Xerxes called for his wife to be brought to him wearing her royal crown to show off her beauty to his people, but Queen Vashti refused to be apart of what was going on. 

King Xerxes was angered in his drunken state called for the wise men to speak on how to handle the Queen, they stated to him that the queen was wrong, what does it show the other women that when thier husbands call upon them, they can say the queen denied the king they could as well.

It was decreed that she should never be in the sight of the king again it was written in the law of Persia and Media. Also that the king was to give her royal position to someone else who is better than she. The king sent messengers to pass this decree in every language to each province that every man should be ruler over his house.

Whoaaa that was serious I’m sure alot of women agree with Queen Vashti. Your drunk I’m not putting myself out there this isn’t America’s next top model. Mind you what I didn’t mention was that when king Xerxes was having his 180 days of showing off,  Queen Vashti was entertaining the women, so she probably was like man, I’m tired you just add seven more days we showed our wealth, enough. One things for sure how ever it went down God was shifting for Esther.

This is going an exciting journey especially for relationships I think that’s what it sounds like at this moment.
