Job Chapter 2

Second test

On another day the angels came before the Lord and satan was with them to present himself. The Lord asked satan “where have you come from?

Satan responded “from roaming back and forth through the earth. The Lord said to satan. “Have you considered my servant Job? He is blameless and upright a man who fears God and shuns evil and still maintained his integrity though you encouraged me against him to ruin him without any reason.”

Satan replied skin for skin a man will give all he has for his own life but strike out at his flesh and bones and he will surely curse you to your face. The Lord says to satan very well, then he is in your hands but you must spare his life.

Satan went back to the earth and afflicted Job with sores from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head. Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat in ashes.

Job’s wife said to him, are you still holding on to your integrity, why don’t you curse God and die already.

Job said to her your talking like a  foolish woman. Shall you accept good from God, and not trouble?

In all that is going on Job did not sin in what he said.

Job’s Three friends

Job’s  three friends got together and decided to go to Jobs house and sit and sympathize with him. When they saw him from a distance they tore thier ribes and sprinkled dust on their heads, and sat with Job for seven days and seven nights in silence, because they saw how great his suffering was.

When we look at the book of Job it reminds us that we should praise God in good times and in bad times.

That it is apart of our tests, a lesson, in all that is going on, what is bad or traumatic we have to learn how to get to our knees and praise and worship. We can’t only give him the glory when the times are good and we are receiving his blessings.

That’s like when we get mad at a friend that only comes around when we are celebrating or have money to spend we  feel as if we are being taken advantage of. Our God sees  and hears all so do think that you can pull a wool over his eyes.

Also I want you to think about  how we think selfishly satan was quick to say that let it be pain to Jobs body for sure he will curse God. In this day will you curse God if your body fell ill with sores or would you bow down and thank him for your life.

I’m going to leave you with that, have a wonderful weekend and I will catch you monday with chapter 3 of Job God bless you all.

Now for the most important part if you are looking for salvation Google, download the free bible app or turn your bible to Romans 10:9, and confess with your mouth and believe with your heart that Jesus died on the cross and God raised him from the dead you will be saved. open the door for a wonderful relationship with our Sovereign God Jesus Christ.
