Matthew Chapter 13

Blessings everyone,

I pray that you all are doing well in your lessons. It’s been a while, it seems like too much space in between blogs.

It’s something, this blog was the first thing that the Lord had given me. Even though I always come back and write, I still felt empty.

When we go through those moments it’s important to plug back into God. I stopped all the other things that I was pressing for and the Lord showed me that those were my things that he allowed me to have. It had nothing to do with my stewardship.

When I get to the throne, I don’t want to be finding excuses why I was too busy to do the things that He placed me over.

I sat down and as I studied and wrote, that empty feeling began to fill up. I had let my cup empty of Gods oil. But the blessing is we can always go back to the well.

To my followers thanks for joining in I appreciate each and everyone of you.

If you were scrolling and happen to have come across this blog welcome. Here is where we come together in bible study, feel free to comment, like, and share so we can pass on the word of the Lord.

Matthew Chapter 13

Jesus tells the parable of four soils

Verse 1- 9

The scripture tells us that Jesus sat by the lake, and crowds had gathered around him. Jesus got into a boat while everyone stood on the shore and he told them parables.

A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering, some fell in the path and the birds came and ate them up.

Some fell in Rocky places where there wasn’t much soil. It sprung up quickly because the soil was shallow, but when the plants came up they scorched because they had no root.

Some seeds fell among thorns which when the plant grew up the thorns choked the plants.

Other seeds fell on good soil, where it produced a crop a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown. He who has ears let him hear.

As I was reading this verse I thought about some things that God has been dealing with me when it comes to tithing.

I most say I hadn’t been consistent. I also worried about where the money went.

The Lord started to lead me to sow seeds in to different ministries and families.

The Lord showed my spirit that it wasn’t for me to be concerned about where it was going.

This process was about faith, and obedience. My faith was in the seeds going to good soil, that it would be a blessing to someone. My obedience because my spirit was led to release the seeds holding it would’ve made the money over God.

Verse 10-15

Jesus Explains the Parable of the four soils

The word says the disciples went to Jesus and asked him why he speaks in parables

Jesus answered; the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.

Whoever has will be given more, and he will have abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. This is why I speak to them in parables.

“Through seeing, they do not see; through hearing they do not hear or understand.”

In them is fullfilled the prophesy of Isaiah.

“You will be ever hearing, but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but perceiving. ”

For these people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with ears, and they have closed their eyes.

Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears and understand with their hearts. In turn, I will hear them.

The Lord tells his disciples that the people are what Isaiah’s prophesied they would be. They have become hard, their not hearing or seeing, they have to be willing to understand and believe with their heart and Jesus will hear them.

In this day we are seeing Isaiah and Jesus’s prophesy come to pass. We must pray for the people to be able to hear God and see what his power does in us.

Verse 15-23

Jesus says blessed are your eyes an ears because they hear and see. Many prophets and righteous men long to see what you see and hear what you hear, but didn’t hear it or see it.

Jesus tells his disciples the meaning behind the sower

Jesus says;

When someone hears the words of the kingdom and doesn’t grasp it or understand it. The evil one comes and snatches what was sown in their heart. This is the one who’s seed was beside the road.

The one who’s seed was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and welcomes it right away. Yet he has no root in himself, so when pressure or persecution comes because of God’s word, immediately they stumble and fall away.

The one who’s seed is sown among thornes, this is the one who hears the word but worry and distractions of the world and deceitfulness of riches choke the word and it yields no fruit.

The one who’s seeds where sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands and grasps it. He indeed bares fruit and yeilds some a hundred times, some sixty and some thirty.

This word is spot on, Now when we speak about a sowing seeds, we speak financies.

Lets talk about where you are at when you sow the seed.

Are you listening to the word. If your not taking in the word and taking the time to understand it as soon as the evil wants to shake you, your going to fall.

Are you recieving the word but can’t seem to practice faith? The stress and pressure comes in and you forget everything that God said about your circumstances the Lord says you have no root there will be no growth no replanting.

Are you the one we all want to be? The one who receives the word, walks in the word. Good soil. Are you ready to yeild fruit 100×;60×;30×.

Verse 24-30

Weeds among wheat

The word says Jesus gave another parable saying;

The kingdom of heaven is like a man sowing good seeds in his field.

The enemy came at night and sowed weeds. The plants sprouted and formed grains.

The servants went to the owner and asked him if he sowed good seeds?

How does it have weed? The enemy must have come and put it there.

The servants asked the owner if he wanted them to pull the weeds?

He responded no because you might up root the wheat with it. Let them grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will tell the reaper to gather the weeds first and tie and burn them, but gather the wheat and put them in the barn.

As I was reading this verse I thought about all the times that we let things that are not of God stop us from our growth, moving in purpose. All because we are so distracted by what they are doing we forget to learn what not to do. What happens when we keep moving and growing and let the Lord remove them when he is ready.

This parable shows us that the Lord allows us the wheat (believers) to grow with the weeds ( non believers) and once we get to our growth he goes ahead and romoves the weeds and distroys it while the wheat goes to the barn (kingdom of heaven).

We must look at our growth process in this way. You are good seeds moving in the word of the Lord but their are people around you who are doing things that are against the laws of God. If pulled to soon you may miss God show up in there lives, this can be because they watched you.

Not every hardship comes from the enemy, some will come from the kingdom of heaven as an important lesson to your growth.

Verse 31&32

The Mustard seed, he gave them another parable.

The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field.

Of all the seeds it is the smallest, but when it grows it’s the largest of the garden herbs and becomes a tree so that the birds of the air finds shelter in it’s branches.

To be a mustard seed; when god starts to plant his word in our hearts we develop faith. Our faith allows us to believe that the word of the Lord will come to pass concerning our life.

We begin by practicing faith in the word of the Lord by building our knowledge of scripture we begin to grow, we become the biggest of the garden herbs, remember we’re good soil so we become trees.

Verse 33-35

Jesus told them another parable

The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that women took and worked into three measures of flour until all was leaven.

The word says all things that Jesus said to the crowds were parables so that the prophets words were fullfilled.

I open my mouth in parables. I will utter things that have been hidden since the foundation of the word.

Do you believe that Jesus has the answer to your questions. It says it in verse 35. He will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world. Are you willing to take the time and listen?

Verse 36-43

The word says then he left the crowds and went into the house. His disciples came to him saying explain the parable of the weeds in the field.

The one who sows the good seed is son of man and the field is the world and the good seeds are sons of the kingdom and the weeds are sons of the evil one.

The enemy who sowed them is the devil and the harvest is the end of age, and the reapers are the angels.

Just as the weeds are gathered up and burned in the fire; so will be at the end of age

Son of man will send out his angels and they will gather all things that offend and all who practice evil and will throw them into the feiry fire.

Verse 44

The parable of hidden Treasures

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it he hid it again and then sold all of his belongings and bought the field.

When we find God’s Glory we will be ready to give up everything just to be in his presence.

I’m sure you all have amazing testimonies to your first time in the glory of God. We begin to go after that feeling and nothing becomes more important.

I remember when I first started writing this blog and I would be there all day working on it in God’s Glory. I was so greedy for the word of God.

The presence of God was so strong. I always say when it comes to the blog the holy spirit is my ghost writer.

Life can come in and wraping you in it we started doing less of the things that place us in his presence and that’s when the treasure becomes hidden again and we have to go back and find it again. Our whoa ‘s of life.

Verse 45&46

The parable of the pearl merchant.

A merchant looking for fine pearls, when he found one of great value, he went and sild everything he owned and bought it.

Again like Abraham are you willing to give up what you love for God.

The Lord told Abraham to sacrifice his only son, Abraham was willing.

Are you willing to give up everything?

Verse 47-52

The kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down and caught all kinds of fish.

When it was dull they brought the fish on shore and put the good fish in the baseket and threw away the bad fish

The word says this is how it will be at the end of age. The angels will come and seperate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into a fiery furnace where there will be weaping and gnashing of teeth.

Jesus asked if they understood all he was saying?

They replied yes

Jesus stated every teacher of the law who has been instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old treasures.

In the kingdom of heaven your not there if you are not serving God and living by his laws, you are not allowed in the kingdom.

Verse 53 – 58

Jesus encounters differing reactions to his ministry

The word says when Jesus finished the parables he moved on and went to his home town. He began teaching in synagogues and they were amazed.

They questioned where did Jesus come from and where did he get his wisdom and powers from? They were amazed. And then they began to take offense, wondering why did Jesus have these gifts and wisdom he’s from the same place their from his mother is a regular woman his father a carpenter.

Jesus replied

Only in his hometown and his own house is a prophet without honor

The word says Jesus didn’t do many maricles because of the lack of faith.

There will be times that we work hard to build our purpose and we look for support from the ones who know us best because we hope for them to want the best for us.

Not the case these will be the people who have very little faith in what you speak.

For some it will be envy for others it will be because of who you once were.

In that time remember Jesus’s words “only in his home a prophet is without honor.”

We have to step out of those that we feel comfort in, because what your doing is going to lead to discomfort in their presence.

And we all know discomfort means it’s time to move to the next.

Jesus didn’t do many maricles because thet were so filled with envey and offense there wasn’t any room for faith and peace
