Blessings everyone,

I pray that you all are standing strong in your walk. When we are building our foundation on faith things come our way, stay strong in the Lord. What comes are way only last for that moment. It’s our faith that tells us God is going to make a way. We need to be ready to believe God for all the things that he has said he will do, and all the things that he has said you will be.

I Samuel Chapter 31

Saul takes his life

Verse 1-13

The word says; the Philistines fought against Israel and the Israelites ran from them, many Israelites were killed in Mount Gilboa. In this fight Saul’s three sons were killed Jonathan, Abindab, and Malki-Shua and when the archers saw Saul they wounded him. Saul didn’t want to die in the hands of his enemy, he told his armor bearer to drive the sword in him. The armor bear was afraid and didn’t want to do it, so Saul took his own life by falling on his sword. When they armor bearer saw that Saul was dead he did the same to himself. When the Israelites that were on the Jordan river saw that the Israel army had fled and Saul and his sons were dead the left their towns and ran.

The next day the Philistines found the bodies of Saul and his sons and they cut off Saul’s head and sent a message to the Philistines. The Philistines took the body and armor of Saul to the temple of the Ashtoreth and fastened his body on the wall of Beth Shan.

The word says when the people of Jabesh Gilead heard what happen they went and retrieved the body of Saul and his sons and buried them at a tree in Jabesh.

When Saul took matters in to his own hand it didn’t work out for him. Saul only wanted the Lords opinion when necessary. Saul didn’t walk a righteous life, he used the Lords like an ATM. We must be careful with this action we must be able to place the Lord in every aspect of our lives, we cannot pick and choose what the Lord can be sovereign over and what he can’t

Now for the most Important part, If you are looking to build your foundation in faith, you can Google, download a free bible app, or turn your bible to Romans chapter 10:9 and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead then you shall be saved. I Samuel Chapter 30

cropped-logo_2042734_web.jpg

Blessing everyone,

I pray that you are working within the Lord’s presences, when we are building a Foundation of Faith, one of the most important things to know is; we can’t do it alone. We are not meant to do it alone. Gen 2:18 tells us that it is not good for a man to be alone. (you may say come on Wilhelmina that is referring to a man and a woman) Lev 25:35 If one of your countrymen becomes poor and unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so he can continue to live among you. This shows us that it is not good for man to be alone or anyone for that matter. When we begin to have children, we were given more helpers. We are born as a helper in our tribe. When two or more are gathered God is in our mist. (you and your helpers) Last one, and when there is no help; Psalm 72:12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. We can’t do it on our own, it is not only our responsibility to each other it is one of our commandments, and for those who can’t get any help the Lord steps in and shifts things and then places divine help.

I Samuel Chapter 30

David destroys the Amalekites

Verse 1 -10

The word says that on the third day David and his men Ziklag and the Amelikites had raided Negev and Ziklag. They had burned it, taken the women captive old and young they didn’t kill anyone but they took them and went on their way.

The word says that the men cried out loud until they had no strength. Their wives and children were taken including David’s. The men wanted to stone David, they blamed him for this. But David found strength in the Lord. David told Abiathar to bring him the ephod, when Abiathat brought the ephod David inquired of the Lord

“shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I take them over?”

The Lord responded

“pursue them, you will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue”

The word says six hundred men went with him where two hundred were too tired to continue and the four hundred went on.

I’m going to jump the gun remember when the Lord told Saul to destroy the Amalekites (see chapter 15) are you thinking what I’m thinking. David is going to do what Saul failed to do. But I’m going to hold it this isn’t a long chapter lets continue.

Verse 10 -31

The word says that David’s men brought an Egyptian to him and they feed him and gave him water (remember Lev 25:35) the word says that the Egyptian was revived he had not eaten or drunk anything for three days and three nights.

David asked the man to whom do you belong? And the Egyptian man told David that he was a slave abandoned by his master an Amalekite when he became ill. He told David all the places that they raided which included Negev and burning down Ziklag

David asked the Egyptian slave if he could lead him to the raid party, and the slave was willing as long as David wouldn’t kill him or hand him to his master. The Egyptian slave led David to where the Amalekites were and they were spread over the country side enjoying the plunder of their raids; the word says that David fought them from dusk until the evening of the next day. David recovered everything that the Amalekites took including his two wives. He took the flock and herds, and his men drove everything ahead of him saying “This is David’s plunder”

On their way back, they came to the ravine where the two hundred men were, the evil men among David said that the men that didn’t go should get nothing, but they can take their wives and children and go. David told his men No, they must not do that with what the Lord has given you, the Lord has protected us, and handed over the forces that came up against us.

David told his men that the share of the men who stayed behind well be the same as the men who went to battle.

The word says when David got back to Ziklag he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah they were his friends with the message

“Here is a present for you, from the plunder of the enemy”

David sent plunder to friends in Bethel, Ramoth, Negev, and Jattir, Aroe, Siphmoth

,Eshtemoa, and Racal he also sent to Jerahmeelites. Kenites, and people in Hormah, Bor Ashan,  Athach and Hebron and all the other places that he had roamed.

When the Lord told David to go forth to recover what was taken from the Amalekites, the Amalekites that the Lord told Saul to destroy. Now here it’s been put into position for David to be on one Accord with God, and things have been shifted to make sure that it is strategically played out.

The Lord provided help for David, the Egyptian slave had gotten sick, and was left behind to die, the Lord sent him help, the Lord positioned David to be there to help the slave, the Lord had positioned the slave to David.

We all have to be ready and in position to help, and to except help. In the intro without readying the chapter the Lord gave me scripture on help. Whomever this word is for, be ready to help, be ready to except help.

Now for the most Important part, if you are looking to build your foundation in faith, you can Google, download a free bible app, or turn your bible to Romans chapter 10:9 and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead then you shall be saved. I Samuel Chapter 29

Achish sends David Back to Ziklag

 Verse 1 – 7

The word says the Philistines had gathered their forces at Aphek and Israel camped by the spring in Jezreel.  As the Philistines were marching the word says there were hundreds and thousands of them. David and his men were at the rear. The commander asked Achish

“What about the Hebrews?”

Achish reminded them of who David was, and confirmed that David had been faith to him and gave him no reason to think that he would betray him. The word says Philistines commanders were angry and told Achish to send David back. The Philistines worried that when they got to battle. that David would turn on them to please Saul. They said isn’t this the David that they sing about

”’Saul has slain his thousands,

And David his ten thousands’?”

The word says that Achish said to David” as surely as the Lord lives you have been reliable” Achish begin to tell David that the Philistine commanders didn’t want him and he begin to tell David why?

Let me tell you, There will be some places that we are not meant to go. Let me repeat there are some places that we are not meant to go. Let’s move forward so that you know why.

Verse 9 – 11

The word says that David asked Achish  ’haven’t I been reliable?’ and Achish assured David that it was not him who didn’t want him there, but the commanders of Philistines were not happy with his presence.

The word says David then went back to the lands of the Philistines in the early morning, and the Philistines went to Jezreel.

I’m going to say this, there are places that we can go, and there are places that we can’t go. The Lord will shift you at the right time. Remember the Lord said to David don’t touch his anointed (please see other chapters 24&26). Now let’s say that David ended up going with the Philistines and he killed Saul by accident, their will go his obedience his instruction was to not touch the Lord’s anointed.

At times, we know we are not to be in a place, you know because it will trouble your spirit. Be ready to move when someone says I love you, but you can’t be here right now.

1 Samuel chapter 27

David among the Philistines

The word says that David thought to himself that one of those days he would be destroyed by the hands of Saul. He thought the best thing that he could do was, escape to the land of the Philistines. He felt then Saul would give up his search and he could slip away.

The word says that David and six hundred men and their wives, this included David’s two wives all went to Gath. When Saul found out that David had went to Gath he stopped searching for him.

The word says that David had said to Achish the son of the king of Gath, that if he had found favor on David then to assign a place for him on the country side. David reason was

“why should your servant live in the royal city with you”

the scripture says on that day Achish gave David Ziklag and it has belonged to the king of Judah ever since. The word says that David lived in Philistine territory for a year and four months.

While David was with Achish in Gath, he would raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites and he would kill men and women leaving no one alive to be able to tell what he did. And when Achish would ask him where he went raiding that day, David would tell him against the desert of the Kenites, or against the desert of Judah and he would be dishonest with  Achish as long as he was in Gath. Achish trusted David and said to himself

“He has become Odious (unpleasant) to his people, the Israelites, that he will be my servant forever.”

This is a short chapter but it packs with so much vital information about David’s survival. David knew that Saul wouldn’t stop, he knew that Saul couldn’t control himself. He also knew that he couldn’t sleep among the Philistines while they knew he was killing their people, but what made sense was that if he killed everyone then Achish would think it was Saul that was killing them.

I Samuel Chapter 26

David again spares Saul’s life

Verse 1 – 12

The word of the Lord says, the Ziphites went to Saul and said isn’t David hiding in the hill of Hakilah, which faces Jeshimon?  Saul went to the desert of Ziph, with his three thousand chosen men of Israel, to search there for David. Saul made a camp and waited for David beside the road on the hill the word says that David stayed in the desert. When he saw that Saul was following him he sent someone to check and found that Saul had defiantly arrived.

David asked three of his men who would go with him in to the camp and Abishai said that he would go. That night David and Abishai went to the camp of Saul and his men, they saw Saul and his men sleeping. Saul’s spear was in the ground right beside his head. Abishai said to David, today God has handed Saul to you. Abishai asks David “now let me pin him to the ground with  one thrust of my spear, I won’t strike him twice” David answered Abishai saying “ Don’t destroy him, who can lay a finger on the Lord’s anointed and be guiltless? As surely as the Lord lives” David continues to tell Abishai that God will strike Saul when it is time, but he cannot lay a hand on the Lord’s anointing. David took the spear and a jug of water from near Saul’s head and moved it.

Praise God this reminds us that there is no reason to be petty or play the tit for tat game. These are the reason we say may God have mercy on your soul. If someone tries to attack you or destroy you, we are to allow God to determine what will happen to them. This is the reason why we look to the left in the right.

Yes there are times it may feel like the flesh will win the battle but remember David, he had a man chasing him even when they had squashed the problem, and Saul just kept coming back. Even if Saul did kill David, he would still been dealt with.  If David had gone against God’s instruction then he would have been walking in Saul’s position left with an evil spirit from the spirit of God leaving him. So instead David shows him how close he was by taking to items that for certain would look for

When we open the door for retaliation, then it becomes about us not about God!

Verse 13 –  25

The word says that David crosses over to the other side and stood on a hill some distance away and called out to the army and Abner the son of Ner. David asked them why didn’t they Guard their king and then he asked them where was his spear and water jug. David to the men that the deserved to die for failing to protect their king.

Saul recognized David’s voice and said

“Is that you David my so?” David asks Saul what has done and why is he pursuing him? David says If it’s God then may he accept an offering but if it’s man then may they be cursed before the Lord. They have now driven me from my share in the Lord and inheritance, now do not let my blood fall to the ground far from the Lord. The king of Israel as come out to look for a flea, as one hunts a partridge in the mountains”

Then Saul asked David to come back home, because David considered his life precious, he told David he would not try to hurt him again, Saul says I have sinned.

David told Saul to send over a young man to get his sword. And told Saul the Lord handed him to him but he did not lay a finger on the Lord’s anointed, so may the Lord value my life and deliver me from all trouble. He reminds Saul that the Lord rewards a man for his righteousness and faithfulness,

Praise God for David’s faithfulness and righteous walk. It is important to deal with people according to what the Lord say. There will be times you will feel an internal war between your flesh and your spirit the most important thing to remember is the inheritance that God has promised.

Now for the important part, if you are looking to build your foundation on faith google, download a free bible app or turn your bible to Romans 10:9 Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and you shall be saved. Begin your walk with word study, fellowship, and worship.

*please take some time today to read the chapter for your own revelation of the word

1Samuel Chapter 22

David at Adullam and Mizpah

Verse 1-5

The word tells us that David had left Gath and went to the Cave of Adullam. When his family heard where he was they went to him as well as those that were in distress, debt, or discontent. David had become the leader of about four hundred men. David had gone to Mizpah to see the king of Moab and ask him to allow his parents to stay with him until he knew what God wanted him to do. David’s parents stayed with the king of Moab until the stronghold was over. The word says that the Prophet Gad had told David not to stay in the stronghold, to go in to the land of Judah. So David left and went in to the forest.

Verses 1-5 Shows us what a servant is suppose to do. David went to the cave to hide and collect his thoughts about what next. The word tells us that the there was a time that the Lord hid his prophets in caves until it was safe. When we get to a point when things are going crazy we are to hide in God, in prayer, in worship to do nothing other than wait for instructions. David’s family found him and was ready to be with him and fight with him. Just in his circumstance the Lord sent four hundred men for David to lead. We serve a resourceful God who has already prepared our resources before anything happens, the question is are you going to wait for instructions, so that it can meet at the right position? The prophet Gad told David not to wait in the stronghold so David headed to the forest of Hereth. David had received instruction from the Lords servant Gad and now new what to do next, David invited God to order his steps knowing that there is glory in following instruction.

Verse 6 – 23

Saul kills the priests of Nob

The ending of the chapter tells us that Saul went to Gibeah and asked the men of Benjamin dcan David give them fields and vineyards or make them commanders why would they betray him for David. There was a man name Doeg the Edomite that told Saul that David had gone to visit Ahimelech to seek God. Doeg told Saul that Ahimelech had given David bread and the sword of Goliath.

Saul went to Ahimelech and asked him why would he conspire against him, with David as he waits for him to rebel against.  Ahimelech asks Saul who is more loyal to him then David. Ahimelech tells Saul this wasn’t the first time that he went to God for David. So don’t accuse this servant and kill this servants father’s family. Saul ordered for the guards to kill the priests of the Lord. None of the guards moved to kill the priests of the Lord, so Saul told Doeg the Edomite to do it and he did killing Eighty-five men who wore linen ephod. He also killed the town of Nob killing men, women, children, and animals.

Abiathar the son of Ahimelch escaped andran to David telling him what happen to his fathers family. David told Abithar that he should have known that Doeg would go back and tell Saul. The death of Ahimelch was his fault. David told Abiathar to stay with him because the man looking to kill him is looking to kill himself as well.

I ended this chapter thinking about the anger that was in Saul. Anger had grown so deep and wild inside of Saul, that he had ordered the death of eighty- five priest. When the spirit of the Lord left from Saul it took morality and Compassion with it. The seed of Jealousy had grew from hate to destroy very quickly. We have two men one who is looking for the guidance of God and one who had lost respect and sight of everything that was good including God. It’s so important not to allow anger to come in and take over and eat at you character. When this happens, you cannot rest, you cannot allow yourself to enjoy life, you will push everyone who means anything away. These are the things that happened to Saul. How do I know? David was Saul’s harpist he soothed him when the evil spirit would take over, when we don’t have the Lord’s spirit in our lives, when we are not walking with the power of the Holy spirit, you will rejected anything that is good, with David gone there was no peace in his spirit. With a restless spirit Saul killed a whole town. When we don’t welcome God into ourlives and follow instruction everything that is not good comes our way and grows.

Now for the important part If you are looking to build your foundation of faith and will like to start a relationship with the Lord. Download the free bible app, google, or turn your bibles to Romans 10:9 and Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart thatGod raise him from the dead then you shall be saved. Start building you foundation by studying the word, worship, and fellowship.

1 Samuel chapter 21

Verse 1 – 10

Saul pursues David

The word of God says David went to Nob where there was a priest by the name of Ahimelech, the word says that the priest trembled when he met David. He asked David where was his men, David told him that he left the men behind because the king sent him on a private mission. David asked Ahimelech for five loaves of bread. Ahimelech told David that he didn’t have loaves of bread but he did have consecrated bread just as long as his men hadn’t touched a woman. David asked the priest for a sword and Ahimelech told David that the sword of Goliath was there wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod. David took the sword saying that there was none like it.

The Lord prepares jus for the purpose. I know that you have heard that before from me. The word tells us that not only God have consecrated bread waiting for him but the sword of a giant that he had already defeated. The Lord will remind us of all the battles that he has already won for us, to remind us that he can and will do it again.

Verse 11 – 15

David at Gath

The word says when David arrived in Gath the men saw him and said isn’t that David the king of the land. Isn’t he the one that the sing about Saul killed thousands, but David killed ten thousand. This scared David that they knew who he was and David pretended to act as if he was insane. The king was upset with his people because he couldn’t do anything with David.

If anything, this scripture reminds us that at times we may not know which way to go but when it is not the right directions we will know and have the knowledge to protect. Was David supposed to be king of Gath? Was he supposed to die in Gath? The answer is No, what we know is that the Lord said that David was to be king of Israel. Let’s remember that David defeated Goliath who was from Gath which means he landed in the space of Saul’s enemy. Because the people of Gath was singing the same song that upset Saul. David had gotten scared and to save his life he pretended that he was insane, because David knew that they did not kill the insane.

Now for the important part. If you are looking to build your foundation in faith download a free bible app, google, or turn your bible to Romans 10:9 confess with for mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the died and you shall be saved. 1 Samuel Chapter 20

logo_2042734_web

Blessings everyone,

Praise God that here we are again, enough time to get it right and prepare. As I was scrolling Facebook I saw someone post in a comment that they wish they can’t focus on what they can’t fix. Glory be to God that in our faith in him he allows us to focus on the gifts in instructions that he gave us, so that he can focus on the things that only he can fix. Amen

1 Samuel Chapter 20

David and Jonathan

Verse 1 – 11

The word says that David left Ramah and went to Jonathan and asked him why was Saul trying to kill him. David hadn’t committed a crime or wronged Samuel so he didn’t understand why he was being hunted. Jonathan responded by telling David not to worry about Saul. Jonathan was confident that Saul would come to him whenever he was planning to do anything and that he didn’t think Saul was trying to kill him. David told Jonathan that Saul knew that they were close, and would not tell Jonathan what he was going to do when it came to David.

Jonathan told David that he would do whatever David needed him to do. David told Jonathan that the next day was the new moon festival and he was to eat with the king. David said that he would hide in the fields until the evening, if Saul looks for him to tell him that he (Jonathan) gave him permission to go to Bethlehem his hometown for a sacrifice if Saul says yes then David (the servant) is safe. David tells Jonathan that if Saul loses his temper, then Jonathan can be sure that he is trying to harm David. The scripture says that David tells Jonathan to be kind to him if he is guilty then kill himself don’t hand him to his father. Jonathan tells David that he would not betray him he would tell him if his father wanted to harm him. Then David asks who would tell him if Saul answers harsh? Jonathan tells David to come with him and then they walk out to the fields together.

This part of the word is on loyalty, when having a covenant with someone before God we are to stand firm on our word. David and Jonathan had a covenant they were one as friends. David would rather die by a hand that loved him then a hand that hated him. Never did he question what God would do, and he would rather go back to his purpose than run for his life.

When walking in purpose we will have that person who will want to stop us, David was walking in his purpose and then Saul wanted it stopped because of Jealousy. Jonathan stood between David and Saul, he would not allow Saul to kill David for no reason. I believe God placed Jonathan in postion to be that person that stands and protects his purpose. As he will do many times, you can be walking in purpose and when attacked it will be that one person to push you to continue, that person who prays strength and protection.

Verse 12 – 17

The scripture tells us that Jonathan swears to David that if Saul reacts well than he will send for him. If Saul reacts in harshly, Jonathan says may the Lord deal with me in a sever way if I don’t send you away safely, may the Lord be with you as he has been with Saul. Jonathan states that he prays the Lord will show him unfailing kindness because he would not kill David or allow Saul to. Jonathan made a covenant with the Lord that the Lord calls David’s enemies to account.

Standing in the position of being pleasing to God, a time will come when we must stand by what is right no matter what. In the verses above Jonathan had to decide between two people he loved. His Father Saul and his friend David. Jonathan tells David I can’t kill you for nothing, and may God deal with whom ever does. We are shown by example to stand by our Christian ethics first no matter what. Killing David for nothing would have been morally wrong Jonathan and handing him over to Saul to do so would have been just as bad as killing him. At times we will have to make a hard choice it may not be killing someone but going against our moral ethics as Christians. The best way to go through that moment is to pray and make sure your decision allows you to continue to be pleasing in God’s sight.

Verse 18 – 34

In this part of the chapter Jonathan tells David to go where he hid when everything first started in 2days he will come there and shoot an arrow, If he yells to the boy that he will take with him that the arrows were on the side of the stone Ezel then he is safe. If he yells that the arrows went beyond the stone Ezel then that means to run, David hid in the fields. The next day, Jonathan attended the festival and Saul noticed that David’s seat was empty he thought to himself “Surely David is unclean, why isn’t he here?” The second day of festival Saul noticed David’s chair was empty and he was over it. Saul asked Jonathan where is David? Jonathan told Saul that David went to sacrifice with his brothers. Saul had become very angry, Saul told Jonathan that he knew he would side with David.  Jonathan asked Saul “why do you want to kill David?” Saul threw his spear at him in anger.

I’m sure that Jonathan was surprised that his father had so much hate in him for David. This started from Jealousy. Actually, this started when the Lord’s spirit left from Saul. He was stuck in regret from the Lord rejecting him as king. Being stuck in that feeling allowed Jealousy to then slip in and cause a buildup of anger. This buildup had him hating a man for no reason, but because people were celebrating him. There will be people that will be mad at us for no reason, trust and believe that God will put a Jonathan in between you and that person. The word says Jonathan told David to hide in the fields and he will let him know what is going on. We praise God for keeping us and placing people in position to make sure we are moving in or toward our purpose

Verse 35 – 42

These verses end the chapter with Jonathan letting David know that Saul was indeed angry and he would have to run.

As I was going over this chapter there were a couple of things that the Lord had brought to my attention. The first one was that he will place people in position to fulfill purpose. The second was that he is not a man that he should lie. Had David died by the hands of Saul, He wouldn’t be king. The Lord said he has chosen a better king then Saul. Had David died the prophesy would not had come true. There is nothing that God tells us that we can do, we can’t do. If the Lord told you to go forth and speak to his people, but you stutter and tear up when you speak in public, be prepared to expect a clear speech. If the Lord says build a business and you only have two cents in your pocket, well you better start getting your business plan in order. If the Lord says he has a king for his people, you better believe by any means necessary that king is coming.

Now for the important part If you are looking to build your foundation of faith and will like to start a relationship with the Lord. Download the free bible app, google, or turn your bibles to Romans 10:9 and Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raise him from the dead then you shall be saved. Start building you foundation by studying the word, worship, and fellowship.

Be Blessed

1 Samuel chapter 19

cropped-logo_2042734_web.jpg

Blessings everyone!

I pray that today is going well for you. There will be times that the Lord cuts you off from all things that you think are good. Take your time and go to Him in that time. When God is trying to get our attention everything that you think is good will not go through, take some time in pray and in the word. Romans 1:17 says “For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written the righteous will live by faith”. When things are not going the way you expect, stand on your foundation of faith and know that you walk by faith and your steps are by instruction, get in to your word and wait on instruction. Saul did not have patients to wait and he started adding himself to the instructions, he ended up being rejected as king. When we start adding ourselves in we stop following instructions, and we ignore faith.

1 Samuel Chapter 19

Saul tries to kill David

Verse 1 – 11

In these verses the word tells us that one day Saul told his son Jonathan and all the attendants that he wanted David killed. Jonathan loved David as himself so he went to David and told David that Saul wanted him killed. Jonathan told David to go hid the next morning and he will go and talk to Saul.

When Jonathan met with Saul he asked him, why would he kill David? a man that brought so much good for the people. Jonathan spoke highly of David so high that Saul made an oath that he would not have David killed. When Jonathan finished speaking with Saul he went back to David and let him know how the conversation with his father went.

When a war had come about David went out to fight with a strong force, that made the enemy flea. The word says that when Saul was sitting home an evil spirit from the Lord came over him, he went to attack David who was playing the harp, but David eluded him and the spear went in to the wall.

As I was reading these verse’s I thought about a saying forgive them for they know not what they do. This is an example, riddled with jealousy (evil spirit) Saul was ready to go back on his word. The devil is a liar, what comes out our mouth we should stand by. Any emotion that makes you take back a promise (Oath) is nothing for good especially if the emotion is jealousy. Saul was willing to go back on his word to his son. Jealousy came about and made him want to kill the one man who was fighting and defeating his enemy by the grace of God.

Verse 11 – 24

The word says that Saul sent men to David’s house to watch and kill him. Michal David’s wife (Saul’s daughter) help David escape out the window. When the men went to get David, Michal told the men that he was sick in bed. Saul told the men to bring David and the bed so that he can kill him. When the men brought David’s bed to Saul there was an idol and some goats hair. Saul asked Michal why did she let David (his enemy) get away. And Michal answered David asked her to help him get away.

The scripture says that when David got away he went straight to Samuel at Ramah and told Samuel all that was going on with Saul. Word got back to Saul and he sent men to Ramah to capture David but those men were over powered by the spirit of the Lord and begin prophesying. This happen three times and then Saul decided to go himself. When Saul got to Ramah he was over powered by the spirit of the Lord, Saul stripped of his robe started Prophesying in the presence of Samuel. The word says that Saul lay in position all day and night prophesying.

Amen! When the Lord as purpose over your life nothing and no one, nothing and no one. We see that every time Saul tried, the lord blocked. That’s what we have faith in that the Lord will block any attack of the enemy will be worked out for our good. Saul thought it would be best to have David married his daughter, it will be easy to kill David with him being so close. Not the case what Saul thought would be an easy kill the Lord made in to an escape. Michal was no doubt set up by Saul to be able to go in and kill and destroy David. The Lord made sure that David had a wife who Loved him feared God. When the enemy puts traps know that God has already found your way out. If you can’t see your way out try to stop looking through your own eyes and ask the Lord to show your spirit which way to go.

Now for the most important part, if you are looking for the first steps to building your foundation of faith. Download the free bible app, google, or turn your bible to Romans 10:9 Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead then you shall be saved. Start your life on the journey of a faith foundation by worship & praise, prayer, word study, and fellowship, be waiting for your instruction with expectation.

1 Samuel Chapter 18

Saul’s jealousy of David

Verse1-7

This chapter starts off letting us know that Jonathan (Saul’s Son) loved David as he loved himself. Jonathan made a covenant with David and gave David his tunic, sword, bow and belt. Saul kept David with him and didn’t let him return to his father’s house. The word tells us that whatever Saul sent David to do, David did it with success. When the men returned and David had killed the Philistines the women ran out sing a song that stated that Saul killed thousands and David killed ten thousand.

These verses show us that when we love another person as ourselves our unselfish acts brings blessings to the person. Jonathan who loved and obeyed the Lord, saw the spirit of God on David and loved David as well. When we love our neighbor, we look for God to do great things in their life, we give our support as much as we can. David was walking in his purpose as some of us are. What happens when that person comes along and you see them and they are doing well at in their purpose. Do you get jealous? Or do you bless them with what you have to help make it better and watch them flourish with love and admirations. When we are building a sound foundation in faith we know that to be jealous does not show faith that you know you were in the right place to pass the blessing for that person.

Verse 8 – 16

Scripture tells us that Saul had gotten jealous after hearing the song from the women. He felt as if nobody cared about his thousands, because they are singing that David killed ten thousand. He felt what else was there for David to take from but the kingdom. Saul decided that he would have to watch David. The word tells us that Saul watched David with a jealous eye.

The word says that a jealous spirit had come over Saul and he began prophesying while David was playing the harp. The word says that Saul tried to kill David twice but David avoided the chances. Saul was afraid of David because he knew that the Lord was with David but had to gone from him, so he sent David away to charge over a thousand men, and David led the men in success. When saul saw that Davis was successful he was more afraid, but Israel loved David because he successfully led them in their campaigns.

This part of the Chapter shows us that even when someone wants to set you up for failure, when God is walking with you it will not work. David wasn’t worried about Sauls feelings he was concerned with being pleasing and doing a good Job in showing how good God’s people are, so that they will know that He is Lord.

Verse 17 – 30

The Scripture says that Saul offered David his oldest daughter in hopes that Davis would become consumed in marriage that the Philistines would overtake him. David refused Sauls oldest daughter saying who am I that I would be the son-in-law of the king. When the time came Saul’s oldest daughter married Adriel of Meholah.

Saul finds out that his other daughter Michal was in love with David he sent his attendants to tell David that Saul was pleased with him and they would like for David to become Saul’s son-in-law. David responded by telling the attendants that he was a poor man it’s a big thing to be the kings son-in-law. When the servants went back to tell Saul, he sent the message to David that all he wanted was a hundred Philistines foreskins, to take revenge on his enemy. When David heard this he was pleased, he gathered some men and brought the foreskin of a hundred men back to Saul. David married Saul’s daughter and Saul had feared David knowing that the Lord was with him. Saul had made David his enemy for the rest of his days. David continued success when going out to battle the Philistines he did better than all the kings officers and had become well known.

When God is with us in what we do we learn that it is the Love and support that keeps us moving. There will be people placed to discourage you and looking for you to fail and fall but if you are willing to walk in a pleasing way to God in your journey they will see that He is Lord and He walks with you. In a foundation of faith, we cannot look to those that are trying to discourage us or setting us up for failure their acts will be revealed in time, it’s important to move forward in Love. God will put both in your life you will have to discern your choices. When discerning your choices have faith that God has already made it alright. In this scripture, it shows up that what the enemy tried to us for David’s distruction God made it a blessing.

Now for the most important part, if you are looking to start building a sound foundation of faith.
