I Samuel chapter 23

Verse 1-6

David seen that the philistine are fighting against Keilah, and he asked the Lord

Shall I go and attack these Philistines?

And the Lord responded saying

Go attack the Philistines and save keilah

Now when David let his men know what the Lord said. The let David know they were afraid, they needed more men for the Philistines forces. David went back to the Lord l, and the Lord answered saying

“Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines into your hand”

The word says that David and his men went forward and fought the Philistines and carried off their livestock. The word says he inflicted heavy losses on the Philistines and saves the people of Keilah.

My God, the most important thing to do before we go fourth is go to God for council your spirit might say “what’s this going on? that’s not right!”

Can I tell you that if you react without God you will never know what that situation was meant to be. When we address things in the flesh we should not expect to have long lasting success in it. David showed us in every aspect of our lives we need to Go to the Lord and see if we have instructions and his blessings to fight that battle.

David didn’t say the Lord anointed me so what Ever it is that I believe we should do we will do. He said let me see what the one who I serve says about this.

Saul pursues David

Verse 7-12

The word says that Saul had gotten word that David was in Keilah and he said

“God has handed him over to me, for David has imprisoned himself by entering a town with gates and bars”

Saul called forces to go to Keilah and besieged David and his men. When David had gotten word what Saul was planning David told Abiathar to bring him the ephod. David began to ask the Lord what was to come fourth from Saul’s actions and would the innocent people in Keilah give him up after Saul destroys their town. The Lord said that Saul will destroy the town and the people of Keilah will give him up.

Saul is still willing to destroy the innocent to get what he wants. When I read the verses I am remind that sometimes the Lord will bring a situation that will test our faith. David had a man chasing around trying to kill him.

For us it could be the eviction notice, it can be the electricity company threatening to shut of your lights, it can be the enemy threatening your job, it can be your health. This word reminds us that we will be worned in our relationship with the Lord.

David had to run for his life, the difference is he waited on the Lord to tell him which way he would run. He didn’t just go without his Faith He allowed the God of Israel to guide his steps, Now the Lord has told him what he heard will happen.

Verse 13- 18

The word said David and his 600 men left Keilah and kept moving from place to place. When Saul was told that David left from Keilah he did not go there. The word says Saul searched for David day after day But God did not give David into his hands.

The word says when David was in the desert word had come to him that Saul was out to take his life. The word says the Saul’s son Jonathan went to David and helped him find strength in God. Jonathan said to David

” Don’t be afraid, my father will not lay a hand on you. You

will be king over Israel, and I WILL be second to you. Even my father Saul knows this”

The word says that the two men made a covenant and Jonathan went home and David stayed in the desert.

The Lord will send confirmation through a messenger to let you know you are in the forward. To remind you that you are who he says you are even if at the moment you are homeless and in the dark. David was homeless he could go home to be with his wife and his brethren because their father was out to kill him. Yet the Lord reassured him this is who I say you will be.

Verse 19- 25

The word says the Ziphites went to Saul and said David is hiding here in the desert. If you con down here we will hand him to you.

Saul wishes blessing of the Lord on them and told them to make the preparation to get him. Find out all his hiding places and I will come with you. When they went to the desert David had gone to another desert, and that went looking in pursuit of David.

We are reminded that their will be people looking for the worst to happen to you. They will try to make it easy for the enemy to attack you, they will try their best to hand you over.

Verse 26- 29

The word says that David was along one side of the mountain and Saul was going along the other. The word says as Saul was closing in on David a messenger came to him and told home the Philistines were attacking,  so he stopped the pursuit to go and fight the Philistines. And DVid went up to live in the strongholds of An Gedi.

We must believe the Lord to make a way. We must believe that he will open doors.

Ezekiel chapter 16 An allegory of unfaithful Jerusalem ( a story of an unfaithful Jerusalem)

verse 1-5

The Lord tells Ezekiel to confront Jerusalem with their detestable practices and say. On the day that you were born no one looked at you with pity, no one washed you they put you in the fields. On the day you were born you were despised. The word tell us that Ezekiel was talking to the people who were born in the land of the Canaanites; their fathers were Amorite and their mothers were Hittites.

When reading this we would say that’s harsh.  but that’s how we come to God, lost and know where to turn. The Lord is talking to Jerusalem a place that was now full of people worshipping Idols.

Verse 6 -14

Ezekiel tells Jerusalem that the sovereign says; that he saw her as an infant laying in her own blood and he told her to live!  She grew like a plant becoming a beautiful jewel. The Lord says when he passed by and he saw that she was ready for love he took the corners of his garment and covered her nakedness. Putting gold earrings, bracelets and necklaces, becoming very pretty and rose to be queen. Her fame spread among the nations on account of her beauty because the splendor the Lord had given her made her beauty perfect.

The Lord puts his everything in us; Philippians 1:6 says, he completes a good work that he began. so when he is completing a good work he is building us with a solid foundation making us beautiful. When we are beautiful from the Lords work some may get a lot of attention because their glowing from his splendor. What you do at this point is the important part.

verse 15 – 29

The Lord says; but then she used her beauty and fame to become a prostitute. willing to  share yourself with anyone who came pass. giving your beauty to him and not God. She also took the fine jewelry he gave he and idols and engaged in prostitution with them. everything that I gave you, you gave to them (idols) You took the children that you bore to me and sacrificed to them as food. the Lord says was your prostitution not enough? you slaughter my children and sacrificed them. The Lord says you forgot when you were a youth and was kicking around in your blood.

The Lord tells Jerusalem that you then built shrines and was promiscuous with others that passed by. and so I stretched my hand against you and reduced your territory. I gave you over to the greed of your enemies, the daughters of the Pallistines, who were shocked by your lewd conduct. The Lord says that Jerusalem was greed and not satisfied and continued to allow different nations to come in and worship their idols.

Just like Jerusalem we Know that God has set us on high but we will tend to put other things in front of his. we will do anything to get what we want and need and move the lord to the side. Jerusalem was made beautiful and then forgot where her loyalty lay. she was ready to bring in people who caused the death of the Israelites that worshiped God. hurt he says you slaughtered my children. lets continue

Verse 30 – 48

In these verses Ezekiel tells Jerusalem that the Lord says that he will strip her in front of the lovers that she loved and the lovers that she hated and allow them to tear her apart. He says that he will put a stop to prostitution and she will no longer pay for her lovers. The Lord tells Ezekiel to remind Jerusalem that she didn’t remember the days of her youth.

The Lord then tells Ezekiel to say to Jerusalem like mother like daughter. like your mother you despise your husband and children. We learn that Jerusalem mother is Hittite, father Amorite, older sister Samaria and younger sister Sodom.

In these verses I can feel the Lords hurt. feeling betrayed by someone you love. He watched Jerusalem grow. He breathed life into her only to watch her betray him. Not keeping a relationship. In our walk with God and as we build an intimate relationship with him this is something we need to keep in mind. Not to hurt him again, but grow in our relationship. Not to prostitute ourselves to the things we want but to only have eyes for the Lord. Gory to God!

verses 49 – 63

In these Verse the Lord delivers the message to Jerusalem that he will restore what he has taken away from her and her sisters but she will be ashamed of herself every time she thinks about it, every time she opens her mouth. He tells Jerusalem that she has done worst then her sister Sodom who did not help the poor and needy, he says that Jerusalem has made her sisters seem righteous.

Again we are grateful for Jesus who has died for our sins. When we think about the Lords anger we can’t help but notice the passion and love. The pain of being betrayed. as we walk in our relationship with the Lord  it’s important to think bout this chapter. God wants to make us beautiful but not for others for himself. So as God is doing a good work in you don’t be led astray don’t make him jealous. God Bless You guys

Now for the important part, if you are looking for salvation google, download the free bible app or turn your bible to Romans 10:9 and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead you shall be saved. get in to the word and began your relationship with the Sovereign Lord and allow him to do a God work in you. Job chapter 35

Verse 1-3

Elihu says to Job do you think it’s ok. For you to say your right not God? And you ask him what profit do you get for not sinning.

Verse 4-8

Elihu says I would like to tell you and your friends, look up to the heavens. if you sin what does that do to him? If your sins are many , how does it affect him? If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he recieve from you? Your wickedness affects only man like yourself. Your righteousness affects only the son of men.

Elihu is saying look to God, look where he is at, if you sin how does it affect him. What is your sin going to do to God. If you are righteous what does he recieve from you, what are you giving  to God. Your wickedness only affects those that are like you , your nieghbor, your righteousness only man can recieve your gifts of righteousness. What Elihu fails to mention is that God is pleased with hus when we dress in our righteousness.
Verse 9-12

Men cry out under pressure, the plea for relief from God. But no one says where is God my maker? Who teaches more to us than the beast of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds. He does not answer when men cry out because  of the arrogance of the wicked.

Elihu is daying that we end up ubder pressure but we want to cry out for relief but not for Gods presence, he says but God doesn’t answer us because  of our arrogance, saying I did nothing wrong why am I going through this. Basically what Job is saying.

Verse 13-16

God does not listen to their empty plea, he pays no attention to it. How much less will he listen when you say  that you don’t see him, and that his anger never punishes and he doesn’t take note of what the wicked is doing. Job opens his mouth and says nothing, he speaks without knowledge.

Elihu is saying that God isn’t listening to Job because he isn’t making sense that Job is speaking arrogantly.  This chapter reminds me how quick we can go from speaking Gods words to personal opinions.  Elihu was right our sins affect our neighbors so be careful how you treat others what Elihu was wrong about is it does affect God. When his children cries he hears(Job 34:28). When we are righteous our neighbors are blessed which is pleasing to the father.  Please remember to do as Job and dress in your righteousness everyday  be blessed

Job Chapter 33

Hey everyone,

Let me introduce myself my name is Wilhelmina Lundy and I am a servant of God, there is nothing better than serving such an awesome Sovereign God.

Ok lets get in to the word

Job chapter 33

Verse 1-7

Elihu says to Job, listen to my words pay attention to everything I say my words comes from an upright heart. My lips honestly speak what I know.

The spirit of God has made me, the breath of the Almighty gives me life. He says to Job I’m just like you before God. You should not ne afraid of me and I won’t be hard on you.

Elihu is addressing Job he says don’t be afraid of my anger, I won’t be hard on you, God made me as he made you. We are one in the same and everything I say is from my heart which is good.

Verse 8- 11

Elihu says I have heard you say ” I am pure, and without sin, that I am clean and free of guilt. Yet God has found fault in me, he considers me his enemy he fastens my feet in shackles, he keeps close watch in all my paths”

Elihu says to Job you can speak on being clear of sin and pure and free from guilt but then you say God turned his back on you.

Verese 12-22

Elihu says to Job he is not right God is greater than man. Why are you complaining that he isn’t answering your words. For God is speaking but your not hearing him. In a dream when deep sleep falls. As men sleep in their beds he may terrify them with warnings to turn men from wrong doings and kept from pride to preserve his soul from the pit, his life from perishing from the sword, or a man in pain close to death.

Elihu reminds Job that God speaks through everything you just have to be listening. Elihu lets us believe that Job’s  situation  was a warning from God, God speaking to Job.

Verse 23-33

Elihu says yet if there is an angel on his side as a mediator to tell a man what’s right for him, to be gracious to him and say spare him from going down to the pit. I have found a ransom for him then his flesh is renewed like a child. It’s restored like the days in his youth.

He prays to God and finds favor with him, he sees Gods face and shouts for Joy; he is restored by God to his righteous state. Then he would say to man, I have sinned and twisted what was right but I didn’t get what I deserve. He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit and I will enjoy the light. God does all these things to man twice even three times to turn back his soul from the pit, that the light of life may shine on him.

Elihu says pay attention Job and listen to me, be silent and I will speak. If you have anything to say go, because I want you to be cleared. But if not listen to me and I will teach you some wisdom.

Glory to God Elihu reminds Job that God wants to redeem us and he will continue to forgive us if that means saving us from the pit, an angel being our mediator. Gods wonderful angels mediating for us rushing our prayers up to God on our behalf.

These are the days before our savior Jesus took flesh and died for our sins and became our redeemer.

When you are going through something comparing your walk with Christ  to a person who sins you have to remember just because you walk upright, doesn’t mean your any different then the person who makes mistakes we are all formed from clay. We all have the opportunity to be redeemed.

Job chapter 32

Verse 1-6

Jobs three friends stopped answering Job, because he kept proclaiming his innocence. But Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite of the family of ram, became very angry with Job for justifying himself and not God. He was also angry with the friends because they didn’t find a way to prove Job, yet they condemned him. Elihu had waited before speaking to Job because they were older, but when he saw that they had nothing else to say he became angry.

Let me say this as a young persin walking with Christ I understand Elihu, I come from the old school, you don’t  speak out of turn and don’t correct your elders. I also understand when walking with the Holy Spirit when the spirit points things out you get angry when a person isn’t speaking right.

Verse 6-9

Elihu says I am young and you are older that’s why I dare not say anything that I know. He says I thought ab older person should speak wisdom but it is the holy spirit in a man the breath of the Almighty that gives him understanding. It is not only the old that is wise, not only the aged who understand what is right.

Elihu is right praise God that the holy spirit dwells in us and gives us understanding. We gain wisdom through our relationship with God no matter how old you are like Elihu we all may look at our elders and expect them to have wisdom, so we wait for them to speak hoping to learn something. We should always listen to the God in us, and remember our elders are just human as we are to know a little more but not as much as God.

Verse 10-14

Elihu says listen to me I will share with you what I know, I waited while you spoke, I listened while you were trying to figure it out. I heard you and not one of you have proved Job wrong, none of you has answered his argument. Do not say that you have wisdom let God prove him not man. But Job has not brought his words against me and I will not answer him with your arguments.

Elihu tells them niw listen to me because I gave you the opportunity to get your words right and I gave you my full attention. He tells Jobs friends you haven’t proved Job to be a wicked man, So I’m not going to answer Job with your accusations.  We see that Elihu is tired of the negativity and at this point he is ready to change the tone.

Verse 15-22

Elihu says they are shocked and have no more to say, words have failed them. Should I wait now that they are silent standing with no reply. I am full of words and will have my say, The spirit in me conpels me I am ready to burst I must be relieved by speaking. I will not show prejudice to anyone, nor will I praise anyman. If I was skilled in flattery my maker would soon take me away.

Have you ever had that feeling the spirit was just moving in you and you just needed to get the word out. But you wait out of respect. I have had that feeling myself, holding my tongue and my spirit is moving not really  willing to speak out of flattery, but not prejudice. Sometimes God waits for the moment for us to be able to speak when the need for his love is really needed and it shows up through the least expected person Job needed the spirit that God was about to show through Elihu. The spirit compelled him to speak at that moment. Please when your spirit is forcing, is pushing, is compelling you to move in God don’t fight it because of who your dealing with it let it go trusting God to move you. Be Blessed

Job chapter 31

Verse 1-4

Job says I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lust fully at a girl. Job say that sin would’ve led to ruin *Adultery being the sin)

Verse 5-8

Job says if I had walked in or rushed in to be decietful, let God be my judge, he will know that I am blameless. Job says if I have sinned then may others eat what I have sown and may my crops be up rooted.

Job is saying if I am out here sinning God will know and may my blessings pass me and go to others. May I not recieve the blessing of my crops.

Verse 9-12

Job say if I lusted after another woman or lurked around my neighbors door,  May my wife grind another mans grain, and may other men sleep with her. That would be shameful and I would lose my harvest.

Verse 13-15

Job says if I had denied justice ti my men servants and maid servants when they had a problem. What would I do ehen God confront me? What will I answer aren’t we all his?

Amen, shouldn’t  we treat those who work for us good, and try to satisfy their needs. God created them as he created us. we are equal Glory to God  say that Job!!

Verse 16-28

Job speaks of how he would help his brothers and sisters, and his fear of God. He says if he lusted money and depended on it he would’ve been unfaithful to God on high.

Verse 29-34

If you have satisfaction in your enemies misfortune or gloat over trouble that they may be going through is a sin. Job says I didn’t let anyone in my house go hungry, no strangers had to sleep outside, I opened my door I did not  hide my sins in my heart.

Verse 35-37

Job says let me go to the Almighty with this I put it on a crown wear it on my shoulders.

Verse 38-40

If the land isn’t tended to, if I ate the product without payment or didn’t tend to what occupied it then it’s harvest wouldn’t be fruitful.

In this chapter we learned that it’s important to watch what you say to others ti not wish bad on one another, even if you don’t care for their personalities.  Also don’t allow a person lost or homeless go without  help. Even if you hand them an address at a local shelter or some sort of comfort.

Now a days that’s all we can do. It seems alot of people are without God, we can’t just allow any one in ouR homes.

In seeding season allow yourself to be positive, don’t allow hate and pain to control your mind. It makes for a barren harvest. Becareful what you do to yourself and how you represent God the Almighty.

My name is Wilhelmina Lundy and I am a servant of the most high Sovereign God, no matter what I go through my work for the kingdom makes me whole. Now on to the word

Job chapter 30

The other day we saw Job look back to the time Gods favor was on him, and he was respected by the people that he came across, when his words were honored  and he was looked up to.

Verse 1-8

In these verses Job speaks of how he is mocked by the young Men who’s fathers  he would have considered to be unworthy to even watch his sheep dog. Men that at one time scambled for scraps of food, and were called theives the men who were driven out of the land.

We don’t think about the fact that the people we see while we are up we will see when we are down. This passage is another example if just that. Job says these are the sons of the men he wouldn’t hire because the looked as if the didn’t have any strength, they looked ill and suffering.

Verse 9-15

Job says and now there sons mock me in song and keep thier distance,  they do not hesitate to spit in my face. Now that God has afflicted me they lay traps at my feet, the build their siege ramps against me, they break up my road, they succeed in destroying me. Without anyones help.

Verse 16- 19

Job says and now my life recedes away and I have days of suffering, my body hurts at night. Job says in great power God clings to me like clothing. Throws me in the mud and I am dust and ashes.

Verse 20-23

Job says to God I cry out to you oh God but you don’t answer me. You’ve turned on me without even looking at me, you are attacking me, you are putting me through this storm. I know I will die.

Alot of us can relate. We are in the wait and things are coming at us left and right, and we are calling on God and he is still not answering. Everytime we concur or settle for what we are facing something else comes up and depression tries to take us until we feel sick. This is how Job is feeling and then you have people making him feel worse then he already feels.

Verse 24-31

Job says surely no one is interested in a broken man. When he cries for help. Job says I have wepted for those in trouble and I have grieved for the poor. Yet when I hope for good, evil came. When I looked for light darkness came. My belly is sick. I suffer, I am in mourning.

Job is now thinking about his suffering and pain not understanding how he had gotten to that position. When God is bringing us to a testimony we will have this feeling. Not really knowing why we are going through the test or how long it will last. Take this chapter and know that it won’t last and God shows us our potential through these tests.  Be Blessed

Job says we only hear rumors about wisdom,  he asks where does it come from?  Only God understands the way to it, and he alone knows where it dwells, for he sees the ends of the earth, and sees everything under the heavens. He knew that from the beginning  ( Proverbs 8: 22-31) And when he looked at wisdom and appraised it, he said to man the fear of the Lord is wisdom.

Glory to God,  In this chapter we learn that even in the hard or not so pretty times God places amazing  things in your mind. You gain wisdom. In the mines you can find silver, Gold and ore. But only through your relationship with God will you find Wisdom, as he sets you aside and in the wait learn from the master teacher. Praise God.

Job chapter 27

Verse 2 -6

Even as the living God has denied me justice the Almighty  who has made me taste bitterness of soul.

He says as long as I have life within me the breath of God in my nostrils; my lips will not speak wickedness. And I won’t speak deciet,  I will never admit you are right. I wil never deny my integrity, I will maintain my righteousness and never let go of it. My conscience will not reproach me as long as I live.

Glory to God Job is telling his friends as long as I breath and live another day you will not hear or see me move against the law of God. I will never admit your accusations are right.

Verse 7-10

Job says may my enemies be like the wicked, my enemies like the one sided people. What hope has the godless when he is cut off, When God takes away his life ? Will he find joy in the Almighty?  Will he call upon God at all times.

This is serious Job says may God not hear my enemies, basically he says may my enemies be like the wicked, that there is no hope for them, that God turns his back on them. Job asks will my enemy call upon God at all times? Well if his enemies are like the wicked they wouldn’t even try to call on God.

Verse 11-13

Job says I will teach you about the power of God, the ways of the Almighty I will not hide. You have all seen this your selves, so why this worthless talk? Here is the fate of the wicked  (Job 15:20 says the fate of the wicked man is to suffer torment all the days of his life.)

Job tells his friends you already know the power of God, but I’m going to teach you anyway. I will not hide anything; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Hallelujah!!!! Here is the fate of the wicked man, the wicked man will suffer torment ALL the days of his life. I wouldn’t want that.

Verse 14 -17

Many of his children, their fate is like a sword his off spring will be hungry, the plague will consume his survivors, and their widows will not weep for them.  Though he is prosperous and greedy, what he saves the righteous will have and the innocent will divide his silver.

All that the wicked man puts aside and greedily collects for his self in selfishness will go to the righteous and his family will be without. I consider that knowledge also a wicked man will keep all the secrets of his success to himself, so that no one has what he has the righteous will learn it, yet the survivors will have no knowledge of how he earned and multiplied.

Verse 18- 23

Job goes through these verses explaining what the wicked will have to endure. I suggest you read it.

As I read I think about what if I didn’t walk with the Lord what torment would I be enduring, i think God for his son Jesus Christ my redeemer.  As my sister Tiffany said to live in the days of the old Testament.
