Ezekiel Chapter 8 Idolatry in the temple

Verse 1-4

Ezekiel starts off explaining to us that in the 6th year, in the 6th month on the fifth day , he was sitting with the elders of Judah. The hand of the sovereign Lord came on him. Ezekiel said he looked and he saw a figure of a man, it appeared to be fire from the waist down, and up his appearance was glowing like metal. Ezekiel said that the figure stretched out his hand and took him (Ezekiel) by the hair. He says, the spirit lifted him up between the heavens, and Earth and in visions of God he took him to Jerusalem. The spirit took him to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court, where the idol that provokes to jealousy stood. and there before him (Ezekiel) was the glory of the God of Israel. Ezekiel says that he was just the same as in his vision.

I am learning when God wants you, he calls you, and puts you right in front of what he wants of you. I could only Imagine being so upright and committed to your walk with God that he shows himself. How many of you are waiting for that moment? I know I am.

verse 5-11

Ezekiel says the Lord says to him. “Son of man , look toward the north.” Ezekiel says he looked and he saw the idol of jealousy in the entrance of the gate. He says that the Lord said to him “Son of man do you see what they are doing here – the utterly detestable things the house of Israel is doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary? but you will see things that are even more detestable”

Then the Lord brought him to the entrance to the court. Ezekiel says he say a hole in the wall, and the Lord told him to dig in the wall and he dug into the wall in saw a doorway there. The Lord told Ezekiel to go into the door and see the wicked and detestable things that they are doing. Ezekiel says he went in and say all kinds of crawling things and detestable animals all the idols of the house of Israel. In  front of the idols were all the elders of Israel, and Jaazaniah son of shaphan was standing among them. Each had a censer in his hand, and a fragrant cloud of incense was rising.

My God, the Lord showed Ezekiel what was going on.  Before the Lord sends us to do something he will show us. There are no surprise when you are walking with the Lord. he will warn you of the dangers, the troubles, and the blessing if you build your relationship and allow yourself to live in the spirit and not the flesh. Our flesh will tell us many things that are not of God and it will take away what God gives us organically.

verse 12-15

The Lord said to Ezekiel “Have you seen what the elders of Israel are doing in the darkness, Each at the shrine of his own idol? ‘They say the Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land.'” the Lord says to Ezekiel “You will see them doing things even more detestable.” Ezekiel says then the Lord brought him to the entrance to the north gate of the house of the Lord, and he saw the women sitting there, mourning for Tammuz. the Lord said to Ezekiel ” Do you see this son of man? You will see things even more detestable than this.”

The Lord showed Ezekiel what the people of Israel was doing. They were stating that the Lord wasn’t there for them. We sometimes do that; when we are worrying about getting more money, and want the new car or whatever new thing that comes out. We start getting anxious about how to get it. We are doing just as the people of Israel; Idolizing things, and money. I’m not saying that you can’t want for things, I’m saying you should want for God more than you want for things.

verse 16-18

The Lord then brought Ezekiel to the inner court of the house of the Lord, and their at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar were about 25 men. With there backs toward the temple and there faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the son of the east. The Lord said to Ezekiel ” Have you seen this Son of man? Is it trivial matter for the house of Judah to do the detestable things they are doing here? Must they also fill the Land with violence and continually provoke me to anger? Look at them putting the branch to their nose! Therefore I will deal with them in anger; I will not look on them with pity or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen to them.”

We can’t sit on the fence and think it will not anger God. we can’t move toward the things in this land and worship the things that we have in our households and think God is going to be okay. You may ask, what we can’t have nice things? Yes ! you can have nice things but don’t base the thread of who you are on what you have. The thread of who you are should be based on who you serve! God say’s this is the time for us to be faithful to our relationships with him, now is the time to release the spirit with in, and serve in our purpose. best put by the Jones family he wants it all

Now for the Important part If you are looking to begin your relationship with the sovereign God google, download the free bible app, or turn your bible to Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord,  and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Get in to the word, start a prayer life and build your relationship with the Soveriegn God.

Ezekiel Chapter 3

verse 1-9

Ezekiel is continuing from chapter 2 (scroll down to 10/21 post). Ezekiel says God says son of man eat this scroll, then go speak to the house of Israel. Ezekiel opens his mouth and the Almighty feeds him the scroll, the Lord tells him to eat the scroll and fill his stomach with it. Ezekiel ate the scroll and says it taste as sweet as honey.

Ezekiel says then God says Son of man go to the house of Israel and speak my words to them. he says God says to him you are not being sent to a people of obscured (unknown) speech, and difficult language, but to the house os Israel. Not to many people of obscured speech, and diffcult language, whose words you cannot understand. the Lord says Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you. But the house of Israel are not willing to listen to you, because they are not willing to listen to me. The Lord says to Ezekiel that the whole house of Israel is harden, and obstinate ( stubborn refusing to change your opinion)  but I will make you unyielding and as harden as they are. I will make your forehead like the hardest stone, harder than flint. he says do not be afraid of them, or terrified by them though they are a rebellious house.

Praise God! did ya’ll read that, The Lord said go ahead and eat these words, and fill up with what I need you to tell them. In other words digest, nurture, chew and swallow. you know it’s like when you eat, and your body takes in the vitamins that it needs to survive. That’s how we need to eat the words of the Lord, that it becomes apart of us. Praise God! He says go on ahead, to the house of Israel, and I’m going to make you hard  like them. The Lord will make it so that you won’t change your words, or back down. He won’t send us any where, without the strength to deal with who we have to deal with. We just can’t be fearful or terrified of who they are, or what they say out their mouths. once we are fearful, where does our faith go. ( I’m just gonna, leave that right there.)

verse 10-15

Ezekiel says that the Lord says to him, Son of man  listen carefully, and take these words to heart. Go now to the countrymen in exile, and speak to them. Tell them this is what the sovereign Lord says whether they chose to listen or not.

Ezekiel says then the spirit lifted him up, and he heard behind him a loud rumbling sound, It was the sound of the beings wings rubbing together, and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling. Ezekiel says then the spirit lifted him up, and took him, and his spirit was bitter and angry, with the strong hand of the Lord upon him.

Ezekiel begins to tell us about the exiles, he sat among the ones who lived at the Tel abib near the kebar River. he sat with them for seven days overwhelmed.

when Ezekiel speaks of feeling bitter and angry it’s because he felt the sin, and attitudes of the exile his spirit was overwhelmed and he need to just pray and digest the words from God and the assignment at hand. Sometimes are assignments can scare us. Lets remember Jesus in the Gethsemane garden, Jesus prayed; my father, if it’s possible, may this cup be taken from me, not my will, but your will be done. (If it’s your will) Hallelujah! Jesus had a moment. After realizing what was ahead of him Ezekiel Had moment hallelujah, My God from Zion.

verse 16-19

warning to Israel

Ezekiel says at the end of the seven days the Lord came to him, he tells him that he has made him the watchman for Israel, The lord tells him to hear his words and speak and give them warning for him. The Lord says to Ezekiel when I say tell the wicked man that he will die for his sin, and you don’t tell him , his blood is on your hands. The Lord also says, If you give him the warning, and he doesn’t listen, he will die of sin, but you will be saved.

Jesus! the Lord is saying if we don’t do what we are told then comes the consequences. If I don’t write the blog then someone misses the message. If my walk it out sister Tiffany, doesn’t take her assignment serious someone will miss prayer, and the word that God gives her. If who ever doesn’t follow the warning, he will die for his sin. I’m not going to touch on accountability. What I will say is,  if we are not obedient, then we will start to feel conviction.

verse 20-23

The Lord says that if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and the He sends a warning or a block and they take it, they will die. The Lord tells Ezekiel since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things that the wicked man did , will not be remembered and the Lord says to Ezekiel he will be held accountable for his blood. The Lord says to Ezekiel If you do warn the wicked man and he listens then he will live, and you will have saved yourself.

Ezekiel says the hand of the Lord was on him there,he told Ezekiel to get up and go out to the plain, and he will speak to him. Ezekiel says he got up and went to plain and the Glory of the Lord was standing there, and he fell to his face.

The Lord had to explain to Ezekiel how serious his assignment was. You can’t just sit on it we have to take heed to our assignment, not to sit on it. when you are on assignment to serve, a soul is at risk and the Heavenly father gives you the assignment to speak his words so that there hearts can open toward the Lord. it’s our job to obey and open our mouths after that, It’s up to them. but if we don’t say anything then we are not obedient.

verse 24-27 this is what the

The Lord tells Ezekiel to go into his house, and shut himself inside, he tells him, you will be tied with ropes so that you can not go out among the people. The Lord tells him I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth, so that you will be silent, and unable to rebuke them, they are a rebellious house. The Lord says to Ezekiel when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you will say to them this is what the sovereign Lord says, who ever listen , let him listen, and whoever refuse let them refuse; for they are a rebellious house.

Glory to God! he says they will tie you with ropes, have you against the wall, and the Lord will keep your mouth shut up untill the time that comes for you to speak. When you speak the word and the will of God some will listen and some won’t because this is a rebellious house. No matter where he sends us to speak

Now for the Important part, If you are looking for salvation google, download the free bible app, or turn your bible to Romans 10:9 and confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Enjoy a wonderful relationship with the Sovereign God.

God Bless You!

Job chapter 23

Job says my complaint is bitter his hands are heavy inspite of my groans.(cries)

If I knew where to find him, I would state my casr before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.

I would find out why this is going on, and consider what he says. Would he go against me with great power.

He would not press charges against me an upright man pleding his case before him. And I would be delivered forever from my judges. Even though he knows the way I take every where,  I look for him, I can not find him.

Job says I am looking for him all over to pled and beg for him to free me from my agony, I am an innocent man, with no sin. Yet he hids from me.

Have you ever gone to God and gelt he was not there answering your prayers? You seem not to be able  to find the spirit of the Lord.

Job says my feet had followed closely to his footsteps. I have kept to his way without turning to the side. I have not departed from the commands of his lips.

I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.

In Duetronomy 28 says if you obey the commands of the Lord you will be blessed. This was said to the isrealites from moses mouth. It ends with do not turn away from my commands to the right and to the left. When Job says this he is reminding God of his promise.

But he stands alone,  who can oppose him. He does whatever he pleases, he carries out his decree against me. And he still has many plans in store, that is why I am terrified before him.

When I think of all this I fear him. God has made my heart weak. The Almighty has terrified me,

Yet I am not quiet by the darkness, by the thick darkness that covers my face.

Amazing! as you read Job says he has the the power to keep this up and yes I am scared  but I’m not going to be quiet, I’m going  plead to the Almighty my case. I want to know what he has to say.

Have you ever been going through it, and you found yourself just going to God with why? You are so scared of his answer but you keep asking why?

Saying I have fasted, I have prayed, I have been good to the neighbors yet you still s strike me Lord.

What if I told you that’s a good thing that you don’t remain silent or you don’t stop talking to him, because when you stop your mind wonders leaving a window open in the mist of a dangerous storm.

Gloryyyy to God! !!!!

Job Chapter 8

This Chapter we hear from Jobs friend Bildad he speaking to Job. To recap in chapter 7, we left off at Job calling for his life to end, knowing that his death is coming, he began asking God why is he a target.

In chapter 8 Bildad starts off saying, How long will you talk like that? your words are just rants. ( blustering winds) he says does God corrupt justice? Does God corrupt what is right?

He reminded Job when his children sinned God gave them punishment for their sins. He then says if you would plead with God if you are upright and blameless even now he would rouse on your behalf.Job 8:7 your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be.

Bildad says to Job ask the former generation  (the elders) and find out what the fathers learned. We were just born yesterday and know nothing but what follows (a shadow ) will they not tell you? Will they not teach you?

Bildad explains the same way plants can’t  grow without water we can’t  grow and flourish without God. If we trust in anything other than God it will not hold us up like a spider web if you lean on it, it will give way.

Bildad goes on to encourage Job by saying 20: Surely God does not reject a blameless man or strengthen the hands of  evildoers.21: He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and lips with shouts of joy. 22: your enemies will be clothed in shame, and the tents of the wicked will be no more.

Amen

This chapter is one to keep a bookmark on, it’s something to go back to when we are going through the tests and lessons of life. Sometimes we are taken down to humble beginning and when we make it out we step into our blessings which leads us prosperous for some that’s financial for others that’s spiritual.

Sometimes we lean on others for support when they are unstable like a spider web they will give way.

Keeping our faith and knowing that God will come in the time that it is written and show up ,your happy time will come again. Those that spoke against will be shamed, what they assumed will be shut down by the truth.

God bless you all I pray that this chapter was a blessing to someone because it was a push for me. Love you
